Chariots of Fire - Remember that movie?

Do you remember that movie? Did you ever see it?

If you haven't it is so worth it. Granted...it is long, and sometimes the movie drags a bit, but there is so much about the movie that is worthwhile.

The film chronicles the life of Eric Liddell, a runner for the Olympics in 1924. Eric is a Christian, and stands for what he believes is right, even though it means it may cost him the chance of winning a gold medal.

There was a scene in the movie I'll never forget. Eric says, "When I run I feel God's pleasure" Even though I cannot relate to feeling God's pleasure during any running exercise (mainly because the rest of my body is screaming in so much agony that pain is the only thing I feel at that moment) Yet, I can totally relate to Eric.

Recently I have been very blessed to be part of the Worship Team at my church. I love to sing. I love to worship the Lord in song. There is something about music that ushers me directly into God's presence.

I know what Eric Liddell must have felt...because I too feel the pleasure of God as I am singing and worshipping Him. As I participate in our church services, even as we practice to do so, I marvel at how the God of all creation knows each of us by name, the He calls us to His service, and equips us for that calling.

The joy of being part of a wonderful ministry, and once again feeling like God is using me has permeated my life. Somehow even the struggles that are raging have not been able to rob that joy.

This Sunday we are singing one of my favorite songs. One I can sing over and over.

I worship You, Almighty God
There is none like You
I worship You, Oh Prince of Peace
That is what I long to do
I give You praise
For You are my righteousness
I worship you, Almighty God
There is none like You...

There is none like You
No one else can touch my life like You do
I could search for all eternity long
and find
There in none like You
I hope you have found your calling, and where you feel the "pleasure of God" in your life. There is nothing quite like it!

I am...

Donna
